Welcome Letter
Dear Parents,

A very warm welcome to new and returning IAS families! I trust that you have had an enjoyable and restful summer vacation and Adha Holidays and that you are excited for the beginning of the new school year. I anticipate an exciting year as we collaboratively foster a culture of learning and improvement. I feel extremely fortunate to be working with an exceptional group of students, parents and staff members.

This year will be a year-long process of self-evaluation, self-reflection, and self-improvement. Also, this year IAS will undergo an Eligibility Foundation Standards visit with New England Association for Schools and Colleges (NEASC) which is the first step of the accreditation process as an International, American School in Dubai.
We have a special birthday this year as our school IAS is celebrating its 11th birthday on Thursday, September 14, 2017! In just one decade, IAS International Academic School has been able to gain the parents’ confidence and support. I am confident that this year will be marked by a series of celebrations and success through the coming months.

I am pleased to announce that the school has successfully appointed new teachers and leaders who have solid background, recognized qualifications, and successful experience with both school inspection and accreditation both in UAE, UK and US. The vast majority of newly-appointed staff are native speakers of English from US, UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland and South Africa. We welcome all our new teachers and leaders who come to us with a wealth of experience from international schools across the world. All our new and returning staff are excited at the prospect of fresh challenges and opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of our school. Over the summer, our facilities team has been very busy with refurbishments on our campus; full building internal and external paint, AC maintenance, and upgrading the internet capacity, speed and connection on all IAS campus.

65% of our students’ body are returning students; we thank you the parents for your trust and confidence in the school. We wish all our new students every success at IAS.

We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. As PARTNERS, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.
This year, starting Sunday, September 17, 2017 the school day begins promptly at 7.40am and ends at 3.00pm. KG will finish at 1.30pm. After school activities and clubs begin by 1st October, 2017, and specifics will be provided, so that students can sign up.

We truly believe that communication is the key to a successful educational experience. Together, we will improve the quality of our school community and provide the best for our children. Throughout the school year, should you have any questions or concerns, please, feel free to book an appointment to see me either of the school leaders. As a learning community, we are always interested in gaining your ideas on how we can improve, these may be sent to IASfeedback@ias-dubai.ae
We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their higher potential.

Best Regards,
